This Saturday is Troy’s 7th Annual River Street Festival. The festival features music, art, food, and fun activities for families. Major parts of River Street are closed off to traffic so pedestrians, vendors, and music stages can take over and usher in the summer. Taking place from 10-6 this Saturday (June 18th), River Street Festival will have numerous local artisans (like previously featured Theresa Hovish & her marvelous soaps, not to mention yours truly with Feathered Nest Studio). It is the perfect spot to pick out that last minute gift for dad (you didn’t forget Father’s Day is Sunday, did you?). Your money stays local and independent instead of going to yet another national chain retailer.
For music, there are three (yes, three) stages, including one geared just to the kiddos.

For food, there will be an international smorgasbord, but my particular festival favorite– fried dough– is a definite treat I will have to break away from my booth to snag. Just thinking about the powdered sugar topping is making my mouth water.
River Street Festival is rain or shine, so come out either way, although I confess I am crossing my fingers for the rain to stay away. It was bad enough it rained for Art On Lark last weekend, let’s have a dry River Street Fest!
(Oh, if you stop by my Feathered Nest Studio booth on Saturday, mention you are an Artolution reader and get a free goodie with any purchase! Okay, maybe that was a shameless plug. But I do have to make a living.)
